Abstract:

The article outlines that the intensification of global competition for markets and technologies alongside with the increasing of geopolitical conflicts in different parts of the world demands that the sovereign states should find reliable sources of economic growth. One of such sources (a driver) is the investing into advanced technologies. Developing such technologies and the necessity of defining the most perspective objects of investing and the effectiveness of planned investments lead to increasing the role of knowledge in development of both economy and society. The system of knowledge highly influences the development of technical and technological progress, and at the same time the transformation of society, so the investigation of its role as basic factor of providing modern production is a part of the subject of both political economy and noonomy.
