Abstract:

This paper presents a retrospective overview of the stages of social development and a description of these changes. It emphasizes the significance of the impact of social development factors, which, as society transforms, form new areas of social activity at the next stage. The role of the state in the functioning of the system of social institutions is examined. Several aspects of the economic factors of the European Union are analyzed. The author concludes that the economic system and social institutions of today are subject to change in accordance with the results of scientific and technological progress (the life cycles of technological structures and changes in dominant technologies in the economy), on the basis of which the principles of the new industrial society of the second generation (NIS.2) are formed.
