Abstract:
the author focuses on the problems of single-industry areas, summarizes the proposals of scientists and researchers to solve these problems, considers the mechanisms of institutional support for territories in Russia, elaborates the importance of industrial development and improvement of the institutional potential of monotowns. The structural provisions of the Concept for the development of the industrial system and improvement of the institutional potential of a single-industry town are proposed, including an analytical system for the socio-economic and environmental development of a monotown, as well as the structural procedure for the formation and implementation of a respective strategic planning document. The presented Concept contributes to improving the socio-economic development of a monotown, increasing labor productivity and the well-being of its population, and progressively developing the industrial and institutional advancement of these areas.
